UHY M.L. Aguirre & Co. CPAs: Making their mark as the team to beat in the 2023 BPBL Championships

The Business Professional Basketball League (BPBL), a highly competitive and exciting league with six teams from various business organizations, recently concluded its first 2023 season with UHY M.L. AGUIRRE AND CO. CPAs taking home the finals trophy. Other league participants included PICPA Team A, PICPA 1st Team, University of Makati (UMAK) Accountants, Dasmarinas Village Businessmen, and Freight Forwarders Federation.

The initial season was a quick single round-robin format, with each team playing a game against each of the other five teams. UHY M.L. AGUIRRE AND CO. CPAs met PICPA 1st Team in the inaugural season's semifinals leg. So far, the emerging champions displayed a strong lineup, finishing with a record of 4-1 before taking on Freight Forwarders Federation in the finals.

The league's first season MVP is yet to be revealed, with the announcement set to take place during the opening ceremonies of Season 2 slated on January 29. Several UHY M.L. AGUIRRE AND CO. CPAs players have stood out during the season– the most notable ones include Marlon Luna, Gerome Garcia, Severino Garcia, Jake Pacarangan, Leonil Aguirre, Tonton Guevarra, Mark Jefrey Dela Cruz, Ruel Facundo, and Matthew Saraza. These players have been instrumental in their teams' success, and co-players are rooting for them to win a mythical five, if not the individual awards.
